<== Site of the Week for 2010-01-11 ==>
HomeAgain
Coco, the Chocolate Lab who shares our den, was once a lost puppy.
She had managed to wiggle her way out of her collar and did not have her dog tag.
Being a good human, I took Coco down to a pet store to get her scanned. Sadly, she did not have a Microchip.
Most of the lost dogs and cats that I've encountered in my day were seperated from their collar. In once case, I gave a lost cat to the humane society. In all likelihood the cat was euthanized.
So, for the site of the week, I thought I would give a shout out to HomeAgain which makes MicroChips that can be implanted in pets. The chips help rejoin pets with their humans. HomeAgain also has a database of lost and found pets.
The video below (from an online pet store called FetchDog). Shows the process of implanting a Microchip.
