Chefs Collaborative

Chefs Collaborative is an organization that promotes the use of locally grown produce by chefs.

In recent decades, the restaurant industry had trended toward homogenized menues that would be the same throughout the country and throughout the year. We could make a really big difference in the carbon footprint of the food industry and a radical improvement in our health if we returned to age old wisdom where the menu followed the seasons.

There has been a resurgeance of interest in slow foods and community shares agriculture for the food in our pantry. The key to transforming slow food from a fad to long term paradigm shift in our culinary thinking is to get chefs and restaurants aboard.

The chefs collaborative site is out of Boston. There are similar efforts in communities through out the United States.
